88 Families were told to move

KUALA LUMPUR - For safety reasons, the authorities ordered the 88 families occupying bungalows, terrace houses and shops in the elite housing in much sought after, here's move still occur due to the active movement of soil after a landslide in the area last night.

Sentul district deputy police chief Superintendent Othman Abu Bakar said all occupants 30 bungalows, 58 two-storey terrace house owners and 18 units of shophouses in the area ordered to move and evacuate the building.

"Public Works Institute of Malaysia (IKRAM) confirms soil movement still occur in the area," he told reporters at the scene yesterday.

So far three bungalows owned damaged including Setiawangsa MP Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique and Rompin MP Datuk Seri Dr. Jamaluddin Jarjis.

Othman said that so far only 49 inmates were enrolled in the police operations room in the scene.

Police have opened temporary evacuation centers in the People's Assembly was evident since yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Phesal Talib, who also visited the scene said the area is now closely monitored by the police, Civil Defence Department (JPAM), Fire and Rescue Department, Rela, Public Works Department and IKRAM.

He said, if there is further landslides in the area, estimated 11.000 cubic meters of soil will overflow and require at least 1,800 trucks to transport ground out.
