UPDATE: Added details of Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL 4G LTE bundling plans. Maxis being the first to offer 4G LTE service in Malaysia has finally announced its 4G LTE smart phone bundling. Initially Maxis 4G LTE was only launched with its Wireless Broadband service offering. There are 2 devices being offered – Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL which both supports 2600MHz frequency.

The 4.5″ Nokia Lumia 920 is offered as low as RM1,099 while the 4.7″ HTC One XL will be offered from as low as RM1,199. Both devices will be tied with either Maxis SurfMore 75 or TalkMore 78 with 3GB bolt on data plan. The HTC One XL looks identical with its One X sibling but instead it runs on dual-core Qualcomm Krait processor as opposed to the One X’s Quad Core Tegra 3 processor. The devices will be available at Maxis centres at KLCC and TTDI.

In terms of speeds, Maxis 4G LTE offers up to 75Mbps with average speeds hovering around 10-30Mbps. Currently its 4G LTE coverage is limited to Klang Valley including areas such as TTDI, Damansara Utama, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Bandar Sunway and Putrajaya with more areas to be covered soon.

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100G

Samsung has just started to push Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the Galaxy S II (GT-I9100G). The Samsung Galaxy S II which is turning 2 years old might be dated but that’s not stopping it from getting the latest updates. Earlier on, the Exynos based Galaxy S II (9100 non-G model) has received its Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update but those owning the TI-based 9100G model had to wait a little longer.

Menurut sumber, Nazmi pada awalnya telah membeli tiket untuk pulang sempena cuti Krismas dan sambutan tahun baru.

Pada masa sama juga, tanpa diduga, salah seorang ahli keluarga yang rapat dengannya meninggal dunia.

Difahamkan, Beira-Mar enggan melepaskan Nazmi untuk pulang ke Kuala Lumpur.

Sumber memberitahu, keengganan kelab Portugal itu menjadi antara punca Nazmi meninggalkan benua Eropah.

Di sebalik perkembangan itu, hasrat peminat tempatan untuk menyaksikan kelibat Nazmi beraksi di pentas Eropah lebih lama tidak kesampaian.

Ini kerana pemain berusia 19 tahun itu mengambil keputusan menamatkan kontrak tiga tahunnya dengan kelab Divisyen Satu Portugal, SC Beira-Mar.

Sebelum ini, Nazmi mencipta sejarah muncul selaku pemain tempatan pertama beraksi di Portugal.

Fast & Furious 6 - Car manufacturers aren’t the only ones blowing millions of their marketing budget on some screen time during America’s biggest television event of the year, Super Bowl XLVII (check out the car-related TVCs here). It’s high time for big time movie promoters to showcase their upcoming releases too, and us motor heads received a bonus treat with the first showing of the official Fast & Furious 6 movie trailer.

From the looks of it, long-standing franchise director Justin Lin obviously does not grasp the meaning of “bigger isn’t always better”. This 60-second spot features more explosive action than a few Transformers movies combined. Take that, Michael Bay!

Kia Cross GT: Concept

2014 Kia Cadenza made its US debut in Detroit, and the cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT are set to premiere in Geneva, as is a hatchback concept.

Before the latter trio emerge, however, the wraps will come off the Cross GT first, and that’s set to happen next week at the Chicago Auto Show. No details about the CUV with a wedgy-front end, save that it’s inspired by nature and driven by technology, whatever that means.

That it’ll be larger than the mid-sized XM Sorento. Presumably, this means that the automaker is looking at moving on to bigger things, specific for the US market. Guess we’ll find out when Chicago opens.

250K hacked Twitter account

NEW YORK - A total of 250,000 reported hacked Twitter account on Monday once it is seen as the latest high-profile security disruptions to the Internet.

Twitter security information director, Bob Lord said, hackers managed to break into more than 200,000 social media accounts including user name, email address and password.

"Twitter also detects some intrusion attempts involving consumer data," he said.

Two weeks ago, a number of leading companies including Apple and Mozilla have to close their Java services to reduce the risk of been hacked.

Lord said Twitter users facing this problem should correct the password before access is given as usual. - Al-Jazeera

Keluarga Legenda Tinju Nafi Muhammad Ali Nazak

Keluarga legenda tinju, Muhammad Ali menafikan laporan kesihatan beliau semakin merosot selepas komen daripada adiknya mengatakan beliau sedang nazak.

“Beliau dalam keadaan tenat dan sangat sakit,” Rahman Ali memberitahu The Sun semalam.

“Beliau mungkin bertahan beberapa bulan ini, mungkin juga beberapa hari ini tetapi saya tidak tahu sama ada beliau mampu bertahan sehingga musim panas ini, hanya Tuhan saja yang tahu,” ujarnya.

Bagaimanapun Rahman mengakui tidak melawat Muhammad Ali sejak Julai lalu kerana mendakwa isteri bekas peninju dunia ini tidak membenarkannya melawat tetapi hanya membenarkan berkomunikasi menerusi telefon.

Dalam masa beberapa jam selepas itu, anak perempuan Muhammad Ali memberitahu pemberita yang khabar angin itu tidak memberi sebarang kesan terhadap keluarga mereka.

Northern Chile - 6.7 Magnitude Earthquake

SANTIAGO - A strong 6.7-magnitude earthquake jolted northern Chile Wednesday, US monitors said, knocking out electricity and local telecom services but no immediate tsunami warning was issued.

The earthquake occurred at 2015 GMT, at the relatively shallow depth of  47.5 kilometers (29.5 miles) and the epicenter was located 102 kilometers (63  miles) from the mining town of Copiapo, the US Geological Service said.

That is about 800 km (500 miles), north of the capital Santiago. Chilean  authorities did not immediately report any fatalities.

The quake, which lasted longer than a minute, downed phone service and  power in cities in the region, local officials said.

Panicked people ran out into the streets of the town of Atacama, fearing a  tsunami, as homes were damaged in the city of Vallenar. In Copiapo, the quake  knocked out windows.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii said in a preliminary report  that, based on historical data, no destructive widespread tsunami threat  existed, but noted that an earthquake of such magnitude could cause localized  damage.

Meanwhile, Chile’s National Tsunami Alert System said the conditions were  not favorable for a tsunami event.

In February 2010, a massive earthquake hit Chile’s central Maule region,  south of Valparaiso, generating tsunami waves, killing more than 500 people and  causing billions of dollars in damage.

Since then, further quakes have caused concern about what could be to come.

The town of Copiapo garnered global attention two years ago when 33 workers  were trapped deep inside a nearby mine for more than two months before being  rescued.

It took emergency services 17 days to drill a small shaft to establish  contact, and more than two months of painstaking effort before they opened a   passage way wide enough to pull them out, one by one. AFP

CHELSEA - Eden Hazard spoke to Chelsea TV after his red card in Wednesday night's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg in Swansea.

The player was sent off late in the game after an incident involving one of the ball boys who later was invited by Chelsea into the changing room to speak to Hazard.

Hazard told Chelsea TV: 'The boy put his whole body onto the ball and I was just trying to kick the ball and I think I kicked the ball and not the boy. I apologise.

'The ball boy came in the changing room and we had a quick chat and I apologised and the boy apologised as well, and it is over. Sorry.'

Malaysia Mencatatkan antara negara aliran keluar kewangan haram tertinggi

KUALA LUMPUR - Pegawai integriti Kewangan Global (GFI) berkata aliran masuk kewangan sebagai merbahaya kepada negara seperti mana juga aliran keluar haram, dan sebagai jenayah.

Malaysia ialah antara negara yang mencatatkan aliran keluar kewangan haram tertinggi dari tempoh 2001 hingga 2010, kata Integriti Kewangan Global (GFI).


GFI yang berpangkalan di Washington DC dalam laporannya berkata, dari tahun 2001 hingga 2010, sejumlah besar US$285.24 bilion (RM860 bilion) telah mengalir keluar secara haram dari Malaysia, demikian menurut edisi terbaru mingguan “Focus Malaysia”.

“Hampir 80 peratus daripadanya atau US$227 bilion ialah berikutan penyalahtentuan urus niaga oleh syarikat-syarikat Malaysia yang mana 20 peratus atau US$57.6 bilion ialah hasil daripada pemindahan wang tidak sah oleh syarikat-syarikat ataupun individu,” kata laporan itu yang menyebut Pengarah Komunikasi GFI, Clark Gascoigne sebagai berkata.

Beliau berkata sejumlah US$122.67 bilion dipercayai telah mengalir secara haram ke dalam negara dalam tempoh yang sama, yang mana 98.5 peratus ialah kerana penyalahtentuan dan 1.5 peratus lagi ialah daripada pemindahan wang “yang tidak direkodkan”.

Pegawai GFI berkata aliran masuk kewangan sebagai merbahaya kepada negara seperti mana juga aliran keluar haram, dan sebagai jenayah.

Aliran masuk kewangan haram boleh dicukaikan dan ia tersalur secara terus kepada ekonomi bawah tanah Malaysia, jenayah domestik kewangan, rasuah dan aktiviti haram yang lain, kata beliau disebut sebagai berkata dalam laporan itu.

Adalah sukar untuk menyatakan alasan di sebalik aliran keluar besar-besaran modal haram itu — tanpa mengkaji secara mendalam mengenai Malaysia, yang merupakan di luar skop laporan itu.

Aliran keluar haram dari Malaysia cenderung untuk mengalir ke perlindungan cukai luar pesisir dan akaun-akaun bank di negara-negara maju dalam lingkungan rantau geografi dari mana asalnya aliran keluar haram itu, kata laporan berkenaan.

Aliran keluar wang haram dari negara-negara maju di Asia pula cenderung untuk berakhir di Singapura, Hong Kong, Macau, Mauritius dan Kepulauan Cooks, atau berakhir di akaun-akaun bank di negara-negara maju Asia seperti Jepun dan Korea Selatan.

Laporan GFI itu menempatkan Malaysia di kedudukan ketiga di kalangan negara-negara membangun untuk jumlah wang yang banyak yang telah dihantar keluar secara haram dari negara dalam tempoh dekad pertama abad ini, di belakang China dan Mexico, masing-masing di tempat pertama dan kedua.

New Suzuki Swift in Malaysia (2013)

Malaysia - Suzuki Automobile has officially launched the third-generation Swift in the country. The five-door hatch arrives in CBU form, but CKD production is expected to begin in a couple of months once the initial run of 900 imported units from Thailand is accounted for.

A single version is available, this being the GLX 1.4 VVT, with the GLX-S being the same car but dressed up with a bodykit. At the heart of it all is a K14B 1.4 litre mill, with variable valve timing, offering 95 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm. In comparison, the M15A 1.5 litre in the previous-gen had 101 PS and 133 Nm at an identical rpm range.

The unit is paired to a four-speed auto transmission, which features a new straight-shift pattern. The company says that the Aisin-derived gearbox isn’t a carry-over from the old car, but a redesigned unit.

While the shape doesn’t veer very much away from the tried and trusted look of the old car, the new Swift is a larger vehicle in every sense. Overall length is up from 3,755 mm on the old car to 3,850 mm, while the wheelbase is 50 mm longer, at 2,430 mm.


Width has been increased by five mm to 1,695 mm, while height is the only thing unchanged, at 1,510 mm. Both front and rear track have also been increased, by 10 mm and 15 mm respectively, to 1,480 mm and 1,485 mm.

Mechanical improvements include a newly-developed steering system offering improved response to input and a more linear feel as well as revisions to the front MacPherson/rear torsion beam suspension system, resulting in greater rigidity. The braking system now features solid rear disc brakes.

Inside, the cabin in the new car features a new black and silver colour scheme, with black key tones accented by silver details. On the equipment list are a leather-covered steering wheel, a two-DIN CD player with MP3 and USB functionality, an automatic climate control system and a keyless entry/push-start system.

Safety kit consists of dual airbags, ABS and EBD with brake assist, and the 1,000 kg vehicle rides on 16-inch multi-spoke alloys, wrapped with 185/55 series rubbers.


Five exterior colours abound, these being Snow White pearl, Mineral Grey Metallic, Super Black Pearl, Ablaze Red Pearl 2 and Boost Blue Pearl Metallic, the last two being new shades. Oh, as for the corresponding Swift Sport, that one is due in at some point, but no date has been bandied as of yet.

As previously reported, the Swift GLX 1.4 VVT is priced at RM77,888, on the road with insurance. Opting for the Suzuki dress-up pack, made up of front and rear lower lip, side skirts, rear spoiler, door sill guards, black-coloured front bumper sticker and silver-coloured grille garnish, adds RM5,300. No, Neelofa doesn’t come with the car.

Everton only two points behind Chelsea and Benitez vows to rise to continue the title hunt this season.

"I think Everton do their job well. They played superbly and has the best ingredient in the team for the title. They are in the top group and they should be commended.

"They are a good team. For this, we have to be ready from the physical and mental aspects of the game. They played well over the past few years and Goodison Park is hallowed arena," said Benitez

For the record, Chelsea struggled in a visit to Everton a few years ago and they lost their last three games at Goodison Park.

However, the recent record thumped Aston Villa 8-0 certainly raises fear for the opposing team even mission for the World Club Cup in Japan failed recently.

Meanwhile, Benitez is aware his players face a tough day because the weather is too many matches and he will be a slight adjustment in the team

Kelantan dalam kelas tersendiri

KELANTAN - Kemungkinan tidak keterlaluan rasanya menyifatkan gergasi Pantai Timur, Kelantan sebagai pasukan paling berjaya dalam saingan Liga Malaysia (Liga M) musim 2012.

Cemerlang merangkul gelaran trebel musim ini apabila ‘menyapu bersih’ ketiga-tiga trofi iaitu Liga Super, Piala FA dan juga Piala Malaysia, kejayaan The Red Warriors pastinya dicemburui ramai pihak.

Kini, majoriti pemerhati bola sepak tempatan mula berdebat sesama sendiri sama ada Kelantan mampu mengulangi kecemerlangan itu ataupun tidak pada musim depan.

Tatkala penyokong fanatik Kelantan pastinya mengharapkan supaya sejarah kembali berulang musim depan, tidak mustahil segelintir penyokong-penyokong pasukan lain turut memasang angan-angan agar anak-anak buah Bojan Hojak tumbang sebelum berjuang.

Bukan apa, sejarah sudah membuktikan segala-galanya. Persatuan Bola Sepak Kelantan (KAFA) sewajarnya sedar bahawa bukan mudah untuk mengekalkan reputasi selaku pasukan terunggul di negara ini.

Mereka perlu menerima hakikat bahawa pasukan yang berada di puncak kejayaan sebelum ini gagal mengekalkan momentum cemerlang mereka, malah ada pasukan berstatus gergasi terus terumbang-ambing mencari rentak.

Antara pasukan yang cukup digeruni dalam Liga M sebelum ini termasuk Selangor, Pahang, Johor, Terengganu, Kedah, Sarawak dan Negeri Sembilan tetapi mereka juga gagal mengekalkan rentak cemerlang.

Andai Kelantan tidak belajar sesuatu daripada apa yang dialami oleh pasukan-pasukan tersebut, tidak mustahil mereka juga bakal mengalami nasib yang sama.

Kedah umpamanya, merupakan satu-satunya pasukan yang berjaya mempertahankan gelaran trebel pada musim 2007 dan 2008, tetapi kecemerlangan itu kini sekadar tinggal kenangan.

Untuk memburukkan lagi keadaan jagoan utara tanah air itu, Sang Kenari kini tersingkir ke saingan Liga Premier musim depan.

Jika diikutkan di atas kertas, Bojan dilihat tidak berdepan masalah mengekalkan kecemerlangan Kelantan apabila sebahagian besar pemain beliau membuat keputusan untuk kekal di Kota Bharu musim depan.

Justeru, beliau sepatutnya tidak memiliki sebarang alasan seandainya Kelantan gagal mengulangi kejayaan kali ini.

Kali ini, peluang pertama Bojan memburu trofi sulung bersama Kelantan bagi musim 2013 dilihat hadir lebih awal apabila dijadual berdepan Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) dalam aksi Piala Sultan Ahmad Shah (Sumbangsih) pada 5 Januari ini.

Kekecewaan Kelantan yang terkandas di peringkat suku akhir Piala AFC musim ini selepas dijinakkan kelab Iraq, Arbil SC dengan agregat 2-6 juga wajar ditebus barisan pemain The Red Warriors sebagai penanda aras kehebatan mereka di persada bola sepak tempatan selepas ini.
